Life Philosophy

Story By Chad Nelson

My Philosophy Of Life

“You’re living philosophy is a system of ideas, beliefs, and the principles you use to engage reality and the nature of your life in general.” – Paul Chek

Interesting quote… so let’s take a few minutes and consider if you have a living philosophy?

How are you going to live your life? In the section below you’ll see Paul Chek’s video. I would consider him 1 of my top 5 mentors.

When I first started learning about life philosophy I could not comprehend the meaning.

You could be a bit brighter than me… “with a laugh”…. but maybe it’s the same with you if you’re between the ages of 12-18 years old, you really haven’t thought about it much.

In golf as in life, it is the follow through that makes the difference.

As you enter high school, then college and beyond, we are constantly creating who “we” are first.

Who do you want to be?

How is my self confidence, my self esteem or self-image.

Who do you want to become?

Imagine for a moment someone poor or living on the street, then on the other side someone rich or famous.

What is the difference?

Do you believe it’s all luck or who your parents are to be successful? Or could it boil down to your personal philosophy of life?

We could talk about this for hours in defining how someone is poor or rich. How it happens right!

Maybe you have heard of the moto…

BE. DO. HAVE.

Who do I have to become, what actions must I do to have positive experiences, to have the results, to have nice things in my life.

For a moment, entertain me and think…. “Do my parents, my teachers at school or friends I hang around have a life philosophy worth learning or modeling for my life. If so, awesome! You’re way ahead of me.

If “NO” then you need to get crack’in and seek out a few mentors or coaches.

Remember this… emphasize “remember”. After high school and college you have to develop a rule called “kai-zen”.

Japanese Word

Kaizen

known as continuous improvement, is a long-term approach to work that systematically seeks to achieve small, incremental changes in processes in order to improve efficiency and quality.

If you stop learning about finance, relationships, fitness, spiritual beliefs or other topics you’ll get left behind and enter the school of hard knocks where you’ll start to fail more than achieve.

When we do fail … hopefully next time you’ll learn and make fewer errors in judgement.

Looking back when I was in high school, I could have changed a lots of things.

Hopefully you will have greater awareness than me, in your life you’ll want to change NOW instead of wishing you did later in life.

We look up to our parents, family and school teachers for guidance but what if they do not know?

I choose… to live by choice, not by chance; to make changes, not excuses; to be motivated, not manipulated; to be useful, not used; to excel, not compete. I choose self esteem, not self pity. I choose to listen to my inner voice, not the random opinions of others.

Above you’ll see a tab, I’ll list a lot of books or audio books to get you started on your philosophy and personal development.

Over the years, I have lots of other mentors, some I personally know and others are online or through books.

One day, I had a mentor recommend I listen to Jim Rohn.

Top 5 Mentors

Jim Rohn

For more than 40 years, Jim Rohn honed his craft like a skilled artist—helping people the world over sculpt life strategies that expanded their imagination of what is possible. Those who had the privilege of hearing him speak can attest to the elegance and common sense of his material. It is no coincidence, then, that he is still widely regarded as one of the most influential thinkers of our time, and thought of by many as a national treasure. He authored countless books and audio and video programs, and helped motivate and shape an entire generation of personal-development trainers and hundreds of executives from America’s top corporations.

I would consider him 1 of my top 5 mentors who has shaped my life. You’ll see lots of videos from Jim Rohn below.

I was very fortunate to attend a live seminar before he passed away in 2009.

"If you learn to set a good sail, the wind that blows will always take you to the dreams you want, the income you want, and the treasures of mind, purse and soul you want."

"Your philosophy determines whether you will go for the disciplines or continue the errors."

"Your personal philosophy is the greatest determining factor in how your life works out."

You’ll also watch videos from Tony Robbins and other inspiring leaders.

Tony Robbins is an American author, entrepreneur, philanthropist and life coach.

Remember… who do you want to become? It all starts with your personal philosophy.
