The No. 2 Instrument of Death

It’s probably not what you think.

What do you think causes more deaths in the United States each year? Car crashes, drug overdose, alcoholism or firearm accidents? All of the those combined don’t total a third of this insidious instrument of death: food.

We are literally eating our way into the grave. Obesity (caused by bad diet and lack of exercise) kills some 400,000 people in this country every year, according to the Centers of Disease Control. Only smoking-related diseases account for more deaths, with a total of 435,000 annually.

We do have a healthcare problem, and most of it is self-inflicted. We aren’t taking proper care of our own health. We need a new healthcare policy, and I don’t mean one enacted by Washington… but one enacted by you. You are the only one responsible for what you put into your mouth and how often you move your body.

At least you know I have your back with exercise and nutrition. The key to success is consistent habits everyday!

“One of the most commonly known truths of human existence is the importance of health and also one of the most commonly and blatantly ignored.”

The same can be said for the importance of relationships. How often have you heard of a successful businsessperson who achieved great financial success only at the expense of those two most precious assets, good health and a rich family life?

The future of every relationship you have, like that of your health, is a choice that is always in your hands, and it’s no bigger than a penny. The key is to make the choice and keep making it.

My mentor Jim Rohn emphasized that one of the first things everyone should work on is their physical health.

My mentor Jim Rohn emphasized that one of the first things everyone should work on is their physical health.

He said, “How terrible would it be if the mind said, let’s go conquer the world and the body said, I can’t even get out of bed?

It takes your healthy body to carry around your head full of ideas and your heart’s desires.

There is nothing more pitiful than a ready and willing mind but an incapable body.

There is a well-known quote from the philosopher Virgil that says, “The greatest wealth is health.” I also believe that health is the beginning of wealth. In other words, your health will help you create wealth.

So I encourage you to take your physical fitness seriously. If not for the sheer benefit of having you live longer, look younger and feel better, then because it will attract more and higher quality people into your life.

I am a big fan of Tony Robbins, if you’re not have you ever read one of his books or heard him speak live or even on YouTube?

Your missing out…talk about taking action!

I was reading a section of an amazing magazine Success!! He is on the front cover..if you have this issue awesome!

He states none of the success he enjoys would ever have happened if he hadn’t been able to find a way to break through his own limitations. He had to get clear about what he really wanted and harness the fuel of human emotion to force himself to consistently take action to make his dreams a reality.

“I’m obessed with finding what makes the difference in the quality of people’s lives”, Robbins says, “I’m always reading, interviewing extraordinary individuals, studying their patterns and experimenting on how to integrate what I’ve learned to make a difference in people’s lives.

I now ask YOU are you stuck in the mud?

If you are… you must explode out of the mud and break through your limitations!!

If 2008 was down and out then 2009 is a great place to start… not 2010!!

Post a comment and make a difference for someone else’s life!!

Choose to make it a great day!!
