THE 5 BIGGEST PROBLEMS FOR PERSONAL TRAINERS
1. Finding New Clients
Your ability to market yourself, get clients to trust you and believe in you.
2. Keeping New Clients
Are you educated enough to be a reliable trainer? Retention is huge!
3. Over-Worked or Busy Busy
If you eventually get super busy working in a club or owing your own business we can work around the clock.
When I worked at LA Fitness I worked from 5am to 7pm at night training 20 clients a day.
4. Need for More Money
The National Average take home pay is $18.13 and the Average salary is $37,188.
Gold’s Gym, 24 Hour Fitness Inc., YMCA, LA Fitness, and Fitness Together are some prominent firms with considerable interest in employing a large team of Personal Trainers.
Self-Employed does shell out the biggest paychecks — the median in that office is $80K — but the company pay scale is greatly mixed, meaning that workers on the low end may earn only $31K while workers on the upper end may rake in up to $155K.
Personal Trainers can also look forward to large paychecks at Equinox ($45K), Gold’s Gym ($39K), and 24 Hour Fitness Inc. ($31K).
Planet Fitness pays significantly less than other places with a median salary of $21K, 270 percent less than the top paying company.
Others at the bottom of the scale for this job include Anytime Fitness, Inc. at $26K, and LA Fitness where $28K is the norm, but it is worth noting that some Personal Trainers there earn up to $71K.
5. Trading Time for Dollars
Plain and Simple… if we are NOT training clients we are NOT earning income.
In any job we have to sacrifice time to earn money.
What it all boils down to is, getting away from directly trading hours of your life for money at some x:y ratio. Instead, you invest extra time and/or money in the beginning setting things up, then continue to reap the rewards long after your initial investment has passed. This concept should be nothing new if you want to be more successful in life.
This website is to do just that... educate you WHY you need to earn residual income as a personal trainer.
